Requires approximately 10–12 hours of self-paced work, including reading cases, viewing case discussion videos, and responding to reflection questions.
Live session date: Monday, November 3rd from 12 – 5 pm ET
Features a 5-hour live, interactive session during which Professor Moss will walk through his original teaching objectives and plans and invite participating teachers to reflect on how they might facilitate case discussions in their own classrooms and use questioning to deepen student thinking and engagement. The session will cover two cases: James Madison, the “Federal Negative,” and the Making of the U.S. Constitution (1787) and A Nation Divided: The United States and the Challenge of Secession (1861). Veteran case method teachers will also join to share their insights and experiences.
Teachers will complete an asynchronous module to prepare for the live session that includes reading cases, viewing video of case discussions, and reviewing teaching plans.

Features a 6-hour live, interactive session during which Professor Moss will demonstrate case method teaching by leading a full case discussion, with participating teachers in the student role. Veteran case method teachers will also join to share their insights and experiences.
